How did you find out about Tokushima University and why did you decide to enroll in Tokushima University?

I found out about Tokushima University through a recommendation from one of my colleagues, who had studied at Tokushima University and spoke highly of the university’s research environment, particularly in the biomedical sciences. After hearing about their positive experience, I conducted my own research and discovered that Tokushima University had a strong reputation in life sciences and is actively engaged in cutting-edge immunological research.
This aligned perfectly with my academic interests in immunology. The opportunity to learn from experienced faculty members and to engage in advanced research in a supportive and internationally focused environment convinced me that Tokushima University was the right choice for me. I was confident that studying here would help me develop both academically and professionally in the field of immunology.

How did you prepare for the entrance exam to Tokushima University?

I studied and prepared extensively in the field of immunology.

What kind of research did you do while you were enrolled at Tokushima University? Could you please share any difficulties you faced in your research? Also, when you had difficulties, how did you overcome them?

As research does not always proceed as planned, I faced some time-related challenges. Nevertheless, with the support of my supervising professor, I was able to complete and successfully defend my thesis within my final year.

Please tell us about your memories of Tokushima and Tokushima University during your stay.

During these years, I engaged in extensive reading in my field and, as my supervisor remarked, it was a time when I truly learned to think critically.

What was your impression of Tokushima and Japan?

My impression of Tokushima and Japan has been very positive. Tokushima is a peaceful and clean city, which makes it an ideal place for studying and conducting research. I was especially impressed by the beautiful natural environment and the kindness and helpfulness of the local people.

Japan, in general, is a well-organized, safe, and respectful country, especially toward international students. I created many great memories during my time in Tokushima. Because of this, I sincerely hope to visit Tokushima and Japan again in the future—whether to study, work, or simply to travel and experience more of the culture.
